Process Description

Anvil Prototype & Design specializes in ZCorporation and related technologies that allow us to produce full color, highly detailed, accurate models for communication and design evaluation. High speed, low cost and full color have helped Anvil customers change the way they use prototypes and has allowed them to use models much more often and for an increasing number of applications.

How it works:
Quite simply our process is an output for 3D CAD data. Before three-dimensional CAD systems were in use, two-dimensional drawings were sent to document printers or large format plotters. Now that designs are modeled in 3D, a 3D printer is a natural extension of the design process.  

Complex geometries can be easily created directly from your CAD files. Our equipment does this using an additive manufacturing process that build the components layer by layer. To do this, the software "slices“ the CAD file into thousands of thin layers so that a physical model can be built one layer at a time. Ink-jet print heads deposit binder into powder to create each layer.
